THAI
SILK, WATERLOO - 15.03.2005
Review:
DAPS
Yeah, I know, Thai Silk isn't a rave, it's a restaurant.
But, I have to mention it, cos my belly was buff and we didn't
even finish our meals.
I booked the table on-line the day before, using CUISINE
NET
and that must have taken the better part of 5mins!
The people at the restaurant actually phoned ME to confirm my
booking - some would say that was a touch!
Arrived 10mins late (19:00pm), but that didn't seem to be a
problem, as the place was packed.
We waited about 5mins for a table to be prepped, but the service
was quite good...no, VERY good.
(They let you taste the wine and all that toffy-nosed tripe).
As you can tell, I'm not fussed with all that. Just bring the food, guv'nor!
While we waited, we admired the warm, solid wood decor
and carvings, yacked about bad-breed pick'ney(children)
and the state of the world in general, then went through the
food menu.
Me and ESK's eyes were tooooo big and we opted for a set menu,
which comes to just under £20 per person. That option includes -
Starter / Soup / Main Course / Rice and...I didn't say "OR"...
AND Noodles / Dessert and complimentary Pot...not CUP...
POT of tea, per person!
I think the tea thing was compensation, for having to move us to
another table (no comment).
The politeness and courtesy shown by the staff would put
MacD's to shame!...The food at Thai Silk is definitely better for ya!
In all seriousness, it was a really, really good meal and more than
I could manage (If you know about me and Nandos, you know
how much I can eat!).
Staff were on-form and despite how busy it was,
about 4 different people served us in that one sitting!
We didn't bow when we left, but they did as they opened the door
for us. Ah mee dat?!...Nah, not really...It's customary, innit!
Great Food, Great Service, No long-ting booking a table and
nifty location. Errr...anyone who wants to sponsor my next visit
should email me asap!
