MACET
@ SILKS&SPICE - 19.03.2005

Long anticipated and long
overdue, was the return of MACET.
Silk & Spice is a decent venue and would have provided
a more accessible place to hold future jams, if accessibility
meant the same crowd would be attending.
Like Bubbles on New Year's Day, the overall age-group was
younger than we expected and we put it down to the fact
that this particualr spot just drew a certain type of clientelé.
Lime Bar (Macet - 2003-2004) seemed to attract a more mature
crowd, which was its selling point. Despite our observations
and the fact that WE don't come out to watch face, we did as
'Souf Londoners' do and made the most of the night.
It was Naughty P's (previoulsy known as 'Short P') Birthday
weekend and we had him drinking Brandy&Cokes 'til he felt
sick! That Danielle girl (Macet Rep) with the cute frame sorted
out the complimentary Champers and the Ferrero Rocher!
Yep, much props for that gesture!
We drank bubbly, then bubbled down to the commercial tunes.
Then the DJ went back to the roots and rinsed some Jungle,
some Breakdance tunes and Old Skool Soul Classics - My Shirt
had to get popped. I was sweating like a fat bird in a sauna!
The over-all night got better and better as time went on,
but the young mentality of a few ravers took the fun out
of the night, which lead to early departures without any
phone numbers being taken - probably wouldn't have belled
her anyway!
I'll say it again - If you want to fight, join a boxing club,
or take-up Karate.
Clubs are for ethusiatic ravers, not problematic raving lunatics! - Muppets.
Stay tuned for the Wales review!...we're off to Cardiff!
